Established in 2008 with only three sites, now with 34 sites and 2 homes. |
FORT PARKER RV PARK gives you the feel of country RVing with the convenience of the nearby towns of Groesbeck (4 miles), and Mexia (pronounced Ma-hay-a) (6 miles). We are only 45 minutes away from Waco and Corsicana. If you just have to get to the BIG CITY, downtown Dallas is 90 minutes away. Groesbeck is the County Seat and Mexia has the Walmart Supercenter. You can’t RV without a Walmart.
Office for Fort Parker RV Park. |
The
family owned park began in 2008. The owner was a traveling Baptist
minister and needed a place to call home. He started with three spaces,
one for himself and two others for other members of the family to use
when he was at home. The park now has 34 spaces and 2 homes and the
owner is on site part of the time. All of the sites have lawns that do
come equipped with the occasional ant and mole. More than half of the
residents are there full-time and still in the workforce in occupations
as varied as construction to doctors.
Old Fort Parker Historic Site is less than a mile away. |
There are a number
of activities and events that go on throughout the year. Historic Fort Parker, is less than a mile away. Annually
there are Cowboy events including fast draw gun competitions and trail
rides with covered wagons. It is not uncommon to see meetings of hot
air balloons and WWII airplanes. There are several historic cemeteries
dating back to the Civil War. The Navasota river is just across the
bridge north of the RV park. Make an immediate right and another right
onto a dirt road to fish off the bank. Or if you cross the bridge and
make a left you cross the old bridge that takes you to Springfield Lake.

Lake Mexia is approximately 5-6 miles away and Lake Limestone 15 miles
to the south and east. If you bring a motorcycle there are more than a
thousand miles of roads to ride in this county alone. Bring a GPS
while riding or driving the back roads, you could get lost. While
driving around be on the lookout for the “Farmers Markets” scattered
around for the freshest of fruits and vegetables. When the day is done
and you get back to your RV site, roll the awning out, grab a lawn chair
and a cold glass of Texas sweet iced tea and watch the sunset on the
horizon.
Fort Parker RV Park is a great place to relax after a day of exploring the area. |
