It is mid January, mid season for Catalina Spa RV Resort and there is MOTION everywhere! Almost at a blink of an eye the resort sites are filling up to the point you wonder where we will put the next arrivals, but we always seem to do it! There are new faces everywhere and the age range has moved to include more younger folks and children. The activities are no longer sparsely attended but we need to add more chairs, double our efforts and expand our horizons from a planning viewpoint. Daily, we meet guests at the office who want to EXTEND their stays. There is an excitement in the air, everywhere!

We have expanded game rooms by renovating the lower clubhouse AKA the Gallery and that is allowing our own in-house poker game, more quiet room for games in small to medium size groups, and an open evening area for friends to meet and entertain themselves. In just the last couple of weeks, we have entertained two camping groups and are welcoming two more this week! While here, groups can make use of all the amenities and facilities (2 pools, 2 spas, pickleball, horseshoes, and bocce ball courts) and the many activities, meals, and entertainment. Many of our groups book for their next visit even before they leave!

Our last weekend was really memorable - the kind of memories that come with that warm comfortable feeling in your tummy. First Friday night, in a rather cool evening, lots of guests gathered around the campfire by the upper pool to have a sing along. Several folks joined our in-house musician Jim M with their talent and guitars to lull away the evening in song and s'mores. Then on Saturday, over seventy showed up for our rib dinner and there were over 100 attending the performance of hilariously funny and talented Laughing Bird! Then to cap off the weekend, on Sunday, we had the most wonderful afternoon at THE HANGOUT - everyone said so! A relaxed Sunday afternoon where at least 48 folks had fun performing or listening.

When folks come to stay at Catalina Spa RV Resort during our season (November through March) we want them to be active, make full use of the facilities and activities, and plan to come back as soon as they can. That's the goal and we work very hard to make their stay a happy one - with great RV sites and much more! Each site was recently landscaped and sites are prepped before each individual arrival, their trash is picked up twice daily, and our maintenance crew are johnny-on-the-spot to remedy problems. Our meal plans for every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night are carefully planned, advertised widely, priced sensibly, and prepared by our competent staff in our clean and well-staffed kitchen. The activities are MANY (over 1,500 separate activities during the season) and are game related, instructional, entertainment directed or celebrating special events and holidays! We have nine workamper teams dedicated just to activities. The buzz words for this coming month are: "How much TV do you really need? Get out and live!"
