Burro Mountain Homestead is located on 210 acres of pine, juniper and oak forest, where you just might see mule deer roam, and offers several accommodation types including roomy RV sites, rental guest rooms in the up-to-date spacious lodge originally built in 1914, a rustic cabin, two rental RVs, and leased lots for long term and permanent residents.

- ATV riding available any time of the year: The Burro Mountain portion of the US National Gila Forest contains many miles of trails perfect for ATVs or UTVs, making it an ideal base location for ATV adventures. Burro Mountain hosts a yearly end-of-April/Early May ATV Jamboree that includes various trail rides, hearty outdoor meals, and lots of fun. - Deming, New Mexico - About an hour and a half from Burro Mountain, you can take a Historic Walking Tour of Deming, visit the Deming-Luna Mimbres Museum, and go wine-tasting at St. Clair Winery, Luna Rossa Winery, or Southwest Wines.
- City of Rock State Park - Located about halfway between Silver City and Deming, City of Rocks offers camp sites, hiking trails, excellent mountain biking, wildlife viewing, birding, stargazing, picnic areas and a desert botanical garden. The "city" is a geologic formation made up of large, sculptured rock columns, or pinnacles, rising as high as 40 feet and separated by paths or lanes resembling city streets. These rocks were formed about 34.9 million years ago when a very large volcano erupted.
