Tips on Using the Passport America Membership

For the past 25 years, Passport America continues to pride itself in providing both members and campground partners alike with the best possible club that rewards everyone in the program! Here are a few tips on using the membership to make your stay more enjoyable.

1. NOTES
– Please read the Important Campground Notes section in the campground’s listing thoroughly before contacting the campground. Some participating parks have no limits on the amount of stay; however, some will let you stay monthly, some weekly, some for a few nights and some overnight for the 50% discount.

2. FOLLOW THE RULES
– Each campground has their own set of rules for specific reasons, including safety. Campground etiquette requires that you adhere to all rules without exception.

3. RATES
– As a Passport America member, you receive 50% off the nightly rate at participating campgrounds. The 50% discount is not applied to additional services offered at the campground (i.e. ice, propane, store, restaurant, etc.)

4. HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY
– Some participating parks may assess additional charges for some services or extra guests, all due to circumstances beyond their control. These are listed for your courtesy and should be paid in an honest manner (see Important Campground Notes for more information).

5. RESERVATIONS
– Many campers like to plan ahead and most parks accept reservations. Be courteous when making reservations, as last minute changes may affect the campground’s system. Please note, some parks may require reservations. Members should check with each park for availability.

6. PAYMENT
– Parks set their own nightly rates and may choose to accept only cash for payment at the discounted rate. Please check the notes in the park’s listing. Also, each park has their own refund policy. Please check with the park directly for more information.

7. CHECK IN/OUT ON TIME
– Like hotels, campgrounds and RV Parks have check in/ out times. If you need a short extension, please make the request as early as possible.

8. LATE ARRIVALS, EARLY DEPARTURES
– Always call if you’re not going to make your reservation. If you arrive late at a park or depart early, try to keep it to a minimum. Parks set office hours to better serve you, the camper.

9. BE A GOOD RV NEIGHBOR
– Campers and campground staff members are some of the friendliest people you will meet. Be friendly, have fun, and always respect your camping neighbor’s space.

10. KEEP IT CLEAN
– Always leave your campsites as clean as you find them. If a pet joins you, make sure they are picked up after.

Singing Hills RV Park and Campground, Cave City, KY - Passport America Participating Park

Singing Hills RV Park and Campground is located in the heart of Kentucky’s beautiful cave country just 2 miles from Mammoth Cave National Park.  It is easily accessible from I-65 and is close to many area attractions.  The park is located 2.5 miles from Cave City and 12 miles from Glasgow.  Singing Hills was purchased in 2007 by Eldon and Beth Brown. They have made many improvements and have an as-we-can-afford-it "to do" list ever before them.  The Brown's love people; they believe that "wherever you park your rig tonight is home."  Therefore, they want each guest to feel as if they are with friends and family. Genuine hospitality is the hallmark of Singing Hills.  It is easy for people to come in as strangers and leave as friends.

Guests love to walk the roads in the campground to get some exercise and to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.  Some like to relax, with fishing pole in hand, down at the pond. Special bait is not required since these fish love hot dogs, lunch meat, cheese, and bread balls.  Many children love to spend their free time fishing. Before the children leave, if they come tell Mr. Eldon or Mrs. Beth how many fish they caught; they’ll get a personalized fishing certificate to take home.

Eldon and Beth live at Singing Hills. The office opens at 7:30 Central time each morning and closes about dark each evening. Since they live on-site, they are available in case of emergency. Reservations are done on the honor system. You leave your name and cell phone number. You pay when you arrive and register. The agreement is that if your plans change, you are honorable enough to call the campground as soon as possible.  That way, the site that had been saved for you can be made available to someone else.

Here are some of the amenities at Singing Hills.

Singing Hills is a great place to come for some peace and quiet.  It's a wonderful place to relax outside with a good book or by taking a walk.  The sunset over the park is always beautiful.  However, the birds, frogs, and crickets in the area don't always vote for peace and quiet.  Singing Hills derives its name from the birds and frogs that blend their voice in concert each day.  From the roosters on the neighboring farm to the red winged blackbirds down by the pond, at least one type of critter can be heard singing most of the time. Each day starts and ends with some kind of musical entertainment by these critters, which is a cheerful way to wake up in the morning, and a great way to relax at the end of a busy day.

Singing Hills is open year round and is only two miles from Mammoth Cave National Park. It's right down the road from Dinosaur World, Kentucky Action park, and other area attractions. Most of the fun things to do in this area are less than 30 minutes from Singing Hills.

Passport America Member Testimonials:
"Singing Hills was our virgin stop in our 2011 Coachmen Travel Trailer. We were running late due to traffic and first time hauling the camper. They were very gracious about our late arrival and we were set up before dark. The campground was very nicely laid out, wifi came in great and bathrooms were very clean and has a timed heater for showers. We were there in January, so didn't do a lot outside and this was just a couple day layover, but will definitely put this on the list for a return visit." - Joyce Manier
3/15/2017

"The owners were beyond friendly and super accommodating to our late check out needs. The facilities were clean, the park was small and in need of a grass cutting, which they did while we were there. Upon arrival they hand out a flier of local things to do, which is super helpful and is just an added nice touch. It's a small family operation and I think they are doing a great job in the customer service department. Especially in this world where it is now at an all time low. They are really trying hard for their customers and are making improvements everyday. I would definitely stay here again!" - Michelle Bell
