Stagecoach Trails Resort, Julian, CA - Passport America Participating Park

We all love some good relaxation time, don't we?  Fire up that RV sitting in your driveway and head to the eastern high desert for a few nights away from the busy life.

Located just east of historic Julian CA, Stagecoach Trails is as good as it gets!  You can even bring a tent and camp under the vast night sky, just be sure to bring some bug spray to keep away all the desert critters!

Isn't it time to get away? Sometimes you just need to slow life down and breathe in good country air, take a walk in the high desert and enjoy the night sky. City-life seems about as far away as the moon at Stagecoach Trails RV & Horse Camp.  Whether you are camping, bringing your RV or enjoying one of our many rental cabins & shelters, you'll feel connected once again to our beautiful desert and limitless skies.

Bring your horses & bring your friends. A beautiful sunrise over Stagecoach Trails Resort is best when shared in the peaceful quiet beside a good friend, furry or otherwise!

High Desert camping is all about enjoying the scenery, taking long walks and reveling in the night sky (and the occasional campfire!).  But sometimes we want a little more, so we're always working on fun things to do around the park.  This list will keep growing as your suggestions pour in!

Pool and Lounging Area: What hits the spot better than a dip in the pool on a hot summers day? Yeah, pretty much nothing is better than that! Bring your towels and get ready for refreshment!  Swing by the general store and pick up some cool drinks & snacks and you have the recipe for a perfect afternoon.  Who says camping can't be a little refreshing?

Horseshoe Pits:
What kind of campground resort would we be if we didn't have horseshoes? Well of course we have horseshoes! The old section of our park is just waiting for you and your friends to come throw the shoes in this timeless camping & picnic tradition.

Anza Borrego State Park: Want to hit the trail and do some hiking or take a ride on your horse?  The Anza Borrego State Park is literally on the other side of our fences!  Enjoy the beauty of protected trails and even nearby Native American petroglyphs!  Trail lovers rejoice!  We have all the land you could ever want to enjoy with those two feet.

Amenities: 286 full hook-up sites, group lodge, 30/50-amp, back-ins, pull thrus, water, dump station, Wi-Fi, 3 clean restroom and shower buildings, full service grocery store, propane, swimming pool, laundry, fire rings, picnic tables, BBQ, ice, phone, RV storage, corrals available for horses, 75 tent camping sites, horseshoe pits, shuffleboard, basketball, biking, nature watching, hiking, volleyball and fax machines.

Amenities for your Horses: Horses are people too!  Well, okay.  Horses are horses.  But that doesn't mean they should'nt have a comfortable place to rest their heads, a place to shower up, and plenty of fun places to enjoy their time in the great outdoors as well!  We love your horses and your horses will certainly love their time at Stagecoach Trails! We offer Horse Corrals, Riding Arena and Round Pen, and miles and miles of trail!

Things to do: Hey, we have a whole lot of great things to do and see right at Stagecoach Trails Resort, but we'd be crazy not to bring to your attention all the other great places to visit within a short drive!

Historic Julian, CA: A quick 20 minute drive away, Historic Julian is a classic mining town ready for exploration and shopping! Lovely restaurants and famous apple pie is on the menu for your visit to Julian. You're not going to want to miss this!

Lake Henshaw : Ready for some fishing?  Just another short drive away is the lovely Lake Henshaw.  Known for its crappie, this is probably one of the most underrated lakes in San Diego county! Dust off that fishing tackle and head on out.

Lake Cuyamaca: Stocked with over 38,000 pounds of trout every year, this is the fishing hole you've been waiting for!  Just 45 minutes from Stagecoach Trails, Lake Cuyamaca is an anglers paradise nestled in the high eastern mountains of San Diego County.

de Anza Golf: Golf is equal parts enjoyable and frustrating.  But that doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a go!  30 minutes away is the beautiful de Anza Country Club and you are not going to want to miss the scenic desert views you'll find while enjoying 18 holes.

Pala Casino: Just 30 minutes from Stagecoach Trails awaits all the excitement of Vegas and more!  Pala Casino is one of San Diego's premier gaming playgrounds that you are not going to want to miss. Win big and camp even bigger!

Passport America Member Testimonials:

"We've camped here a few times and it's always quiet and serene. We went on a few hikes that start right at the campground and head up into the canyons. There is always so much to see, and the view from the top of the hills is amazing! It's a fun place to camp or stay in your RV with their western cowboy themed decorations. The night sky is amazing too! They even have a telescope pad if you're really into it. It gets a little windy sometimes, so don't forget your tent stakes. We hope we can come back soon!" "Located between Julian and Anza Borrego. 150 Lazy Daze motorhomes were having a caravan here. Camped us by ourselves on other side of park. Very quiet. Great night sky! Owners were very pleasant and helpful. We camped here in a Travel Trailer. It is too far out of the way for an overnighter, but we stayed for a week and enjoyed it. We used it as a home base to go between Julian and 4x4ing and hiking in Anza Borrego." Brian Hunt 12/7/2010

We are San Diegos best kept secret!  Life is just better at Stagecoach Trails.
